The electrical panel rarely gets attention until something goes wrong, but it usually gives warnings first. Knowing them helps you call before a small problem becomes a dangerous one.
The first sign is a breaker that trips repeatedly. Occasionally it is just too much load on one circuit; often it is a worn breaker or a loose connection. The second is heat: a panel cover or breaker that is warm to the touch, or a burning smell near the panel, needs to be checked right away.
Third and fourth are visible: rust, corrosion, or scorch marks inside the panel, and dust buildup that is common in the Imperial Valley. Fifth is capacity. If every slot is full and you are planning a new AC unit, an addition, or a shop, the panel may not have room for what comes next.
Sixth is age. Older panels and certain brands are known for breakers that do not trip when they should. Not every warning means replacement: many problems are fixed with a new breaker, tightened connections, or maintenance. An inspection tells you which, and we put it in writing before any work starts.
